Can I use my iPhone earphones for Line-In?

I know that they can be used for audio, haha. But can they be used to take advantage of the mic in the earphones? I thought this would be pretty cool. I looked in the sound preferences and they didn't show up in there, so I would guess you can't. But you never know. Thanks!

Black MacBook- 2.2GHz, 1gb RAM, 160GB, Double-Layer Superdrive.
I don't think so but your mac has a built in microphone so you should be set when it comes to that.
