I took the test on this site and did the frequent words. You can take a screen shot of the window that pops up when your done, and post it one here.

Flickr isn't working, but I got 72 WPM with 3 errors.

i am a four finger hunt and peck typer with little real training.

41 wpm
13 mistakes.
6.9 mistakes/minute

i don't agree with a few of them though. who only puts one space between a period and the start of the next sentance? so four of them should not count.

Well not sure if it's accurate or not, but:

1st time: 99 wpm with 5 mistakes
2nd time: 110 wpm with 0 mistakes
3rd time: 103 wpm with 4 mistakes

No clue how accurate it is, but it seems pretty close to my typing speed. I started playing this online multiplayer text based game (MUD - Multi User Dungeon) which if you don't type fast.. you die.. well that is if you are fighting some seriously big creatures :) So I should thank the game for getting something good from it :)

I used to type really fast, back in my high school days where I had to juggle half a dozen AIM conversations simultaneously. Now I've gone down to about 75 wpm. :(

Every time I try to type the first word "shorty" it says "ERROR! Type T!" whatever the heck that means. I know I am hitting the letter t.

Edit: Nevermind. I am supposed to type the paragraph. I thought I was supposed to type the word next to the text entry field where it says "now typing: shorty". I guess I am too used to the awesome Typing of the Dead on the Sega Dreamcast. I'll post results soon.

EDIT: I was about 48wpm with 2.8 mistakes per minute or something like that. I am a hunt and peck-er. I can type a heaven-of-a lot faster than that usually since I know what I want to type. I kept having to look back up to see what to type next as the thought was not flowing from within my brain. I guess I could score way over 80wmp if I memorized the paragraph.

Agreed. Though you may have been penalized for not capitalizing. ;)

Print it out and put it on top of your keyboard. And normally when you type you should be able to look at the screen while typing. That is one thing that hunt and peckers have trouble with. :)

well, i did capitalize for the test, though i'm sure it slowed me down, since even at work i let the auto-correct do it's job for sentence case.

I am blazing fast! 46 WPM with 9 errors.
I don't know how you describe how I type. I mainly use the first and second fingers on both hands. I occassionally use the ring finger. I only use the pinky for shift and enter. I never keep my hands near home row so I can get confused when I mess up but I know where all the keys are so I don't have to look down at my hands.
