    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. Hello there fellow FCP users,

My REVEAL FRAME shortcut key (SHIFT F) has suddenly stopped working. I'm able to MATCH FRAME shortcut key (F), but then when I SHIFT F to REVEAL FRAME, nothing happens. I've tried to reset the shortcut on my keyboard, but to no avail. Any ideas how to recover lost shortcut keys? I'm desperate!!!

My specs: G5, 2X2 Ghz Power PC, 2.5GB of RAM, and I'm running OSX 10.4.2, and FCP5

I appreciate any advice!

is your shift key functional? did you try to reveal frame with the shift key on the other side?

otherwise, trash the plist files for final cut (you will loose some of your preferences)

I have never used this shortcut. What is it supposed to do? I just opened a project in Final Cut Pro, went to the timeline and pressed Shift + F. Nothing happened except the bin window highlighted itself. Pressing F alone just went to the same frame in the source that was selected in the timeline.

Anyway try looking through all of the menus to find reveal frame and see if it has a shortcut listed next to it.

reveal frame is a great tool to quickly find where the original source clip is to a segment that you've got in your timeline. for instance, maybe you remember that there was more in that one interview or sequence that you'd like to try working with, and instead of having to go look for it, reveal frame will highlight both the bin and the clip where you pulled the segment from. if you have an ENORMOUS amount of material uploaded and in loooong clips, this tool is super helpful. most ex-avid users got used to this tool, and apparently that's why FCP incorporated it into FCP4.
cool stuff.
