Activation Key

Hi, I just got a new macbook laptop and I want to register for a .Mac account, it could save me 100 bucks if I have an activation key, but does one come with your laptop? If so, what part of the package does it come in?

Sorry, it doesn't. You can try looking on ebay for .Mac cheaper than the $100 though.

I'd rather buy it of the official mac store, that's pretty stupid, it should come with your mac.

Also note that it's an annual subscription - not a one time fee. I'd suggest you start with the free trial and see how you like it.

My free trial is almost over, and I like it so far. I don't want to lose iweb.

You wouldn't lose iWeb, just the web hosting service from Apple. Most ISPs provide some kind of Web space - and it's free to use. And of course, iWeb can be configured to work with it.

I had the free trial about 2 years ago, and liked it, so I bought the year-long subscription. I just renewed back in August.

IMO.. .Mac can be a very helpful tool.

I'm definitely going to buy it....everything mac is excellent

How exactly is it stupid that it doesn't come with .mac free when you buy a computer?

Make sure you get it before your trial runs out, it'll delete everything on your .mac space when it expires so if you don't have it backed up, its gone... I learned the hard way.
