The Return of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report

In case you didn't know, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are back tonight. In fact, The Daily Show is on right now. They don't have any writers, but I had a different question. That question is: Does it seem like Jon Stewart gained weight?

Wow. Am I the only person who thought that?

Dunno, I didn't see it, but I'll watch tonight. Maybe he was eating away his worries about the strike. So, is he writing his own stuff then? I thought he and his correspondents were writers for the show also.

I don't know what the strike is all about exactly, but I have always felt bad for the writers, know they most likely make a very small fraction of what the actors make when the actors would have nothing without the writers' words.

Well, both shows pretty much focused on the strike. Colbert talked about giving Huckabee the "Colbert Bump," and some other stuff about the primaries but overall it was just stuff on the strike.

Good to see the Colbert Report back - Oh how I have missed it. I get a satelite feed of it through my pay TV provider.

I watched it last night and tonight. It's definitely different, but in some ways it seems suspiciously different. I know Jon Stewart is not happy about being back. At times it almost feels like he's doing badly on purpose: speaking a bit oddly, timing on the things he says is way off to almost ruin the joke he's saying. It's pretty odd. I hope the writers come back soon.
