Photo deleting problem

Hi,
To free up some space last night I backed-up all my photos from IPhoto 08 onto CDs. I opened up my macbook this morning and it went into screen saver mode (i have the pictures slideshow selected for a screen saver) and all the pics I thought I deleted were still coming up. I emptied the trash. Still coming up. Are these pics somewhere still taking up space? Please help, I only have 13 GB free. Thanks.

What method did you use to delete the pictures from your hard drive? Did you put them into iPhoto's trash and then empty? Or??

I moved them to the burn folder then just selected them all and deleted them, and i emptied the trash on the computer, not in iphoto.

You need to put them in the trash within iPhoto, and then empty that trash. Should be fine, then.
