CRISIS! Plz help me.

I've been dling a lot of stuff and my 160 G hard drive is full. I decided to back up everything (pics and vids) and now the HD is even fuller! I deleted the files and emptied the trash but it is still only 851 mb left. I am in dire straits. How do I "clean up" my Mac? Pllleeeaaassseee help. Thanks.

By an external hard drive and back up to that......

Burn back up dvd's or get an external as suggested.

First of all, take a deep breath and calm yourself! There, I am sure you feel better already! Now, you need to investigate where all that space is going. There are two great tools for this available, both free. They are Disk Inventory X and WhatSize. Get them at:

Both do a great job at letting you zero in on your largest disk space consumers, so that you can hunt down any rogue files (and both are freeware, which is good).
