I have an external drive that I want to use as my Time Machine drive. It was previously formatted on my PC. How do I format it in the Mac format please?:|

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility

that program will allow you to format a drive, it is also useful for repairing disk permissions on apple drives

Thanks. I have checked the Disc Utility out but it gives me several Mac formats to choose from. Which should I choose.

Before you go ahead with it, I suggest you read up on that 10GB limit problem that people were having with Time Machine and Windows formatted drives. I'm not sure about the specifics of the situation, but you might want to look through this: http://www.macobserver.com/article/2007/11/07.12.shtml (as well as google your way through).

I meant this just as a warning, in most cases it should go fine (as did mine).
