"Closing" a window

Hi guys!

I've heard alot about how "closing" a window in OSX is different than windows, but ive never actually known WHAT that difference is.

can someone please elaborate on this?

Your Mac's Specs
Macbook - 2.16ghz Core2Duo, 4Gb Ram, 320Gb WD Scorpio HDD, Westinghouse 22" external display
If you close the window using the red "x" on the top left, the window will close, but the program will still work... Opens quickly the next time you need it...

To completely close it, hit "Apple key" + Q, "Quit" from the program's menu.

thanks guys that answers my question as far as i can see. all thats left is to play with it for a while :)
