syncing folders between two computers

I just got a MBP (learning to use but like it so far... except for the screen dimming bug!) and I was wondering if there is a way to sync folders between my MBP and my windows based desktop. For example, lets say I download some new songs on my desktop. Except for manually transferring them etc.. is there a way just to automatically sync changes like that? Or if I create a new word document etc...
