How do i stop start up programs specifically iTunes and the hard drive window that pops up after log in, that is getting extremly annoying.

System Prefs ~> Accounts ~> YourUserAccount ~> Login Items
But first have a look in the contextual menu that appears when you click and hold, on the iTunes icon in your Dock (it you have it there) ...
