From iTunes to Quicktime?

I wanna take some footage of a TV show I have on iTunes and put it into iMovie HD, but I think I need to turn it into a file that opens into Quicktime first. How do I turn it into a Quicktime file that will work, or just put the iTunes video in iMovie? Please help. I'm trying to make an AMV. (Animate Music Video)

Is that a TV show purchased from the iTunes store? Cause if not then it will show in the "Media" tab in iMovie..
