Student Discount vs Refurbished Macbook

Hey there, buying my first Macbook.

I can either use my student discount and get a new Macbook for $1000, or I can get a refurb for $949. What should I do?

Get the new one. Refurbs = used

50$ difference does misguide you to a Refurbished .....
i would go with the New one...

agree, for $50 more, why not get a brand new one and enjoy the factory smell

Why would you consider buying anything second hand for a paltry 5% savings?

Refurb = Better than New

Refurbs go through a much more stringent QA check than a new machine would.
Plus, all refurbs come with the same one year warranty as a new machine and you can still purchase the APP extension for them.

So in that sense, they are a better deal.
