Hello,

when I shut down my iMac, after it has just shutdown, you can hear what I'm assuming is the hard drive or disk making a quiet whirring noise for several seconds until it stops spinning. Is it normal for this to happen?

Thanks

I had a question similar to this when I first got my Macbook. It was just the fan. You should be ok.

yea, it's perfectly normal. on a macbook you are actually supposed to wait until that noise has stopped before you close the lid, or you could face serious problems.
