How to set Pages as the default opener of doc. files?

please tell me how to set Pages as the default opener of doc. files, instead of TextEdit.

Try getting the info on a doc you have. Go down to the "Open With.." and select Pages as the application to open it. Once that is done, "Change All.." should be available. That should work..

Yep as iLindzo says: right-click on one .doc file, choose Get Info from the contextual menu that appears. This will open the file's Info window.

Under the Open With section, choose from the drop-down menu the app you want to open the file from now on (in your case it would be Pages), and click on the Change All... button so that all files with the same type trigger the chosen app.
