Has anyone done a clean install using the Leopard Upgrade DVD that you can get if you bought a recent Mac. (not the retail version)

Is it even possible with the upgrade or do you need a full retail version to install to a blank disk?

15in i7 MacBook Pro, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 500GB HD
The computer needs to have a installation of Tiger on it first, but you can do any of the 3 install types from the upgrade disc.
