I lost one of my places lol

Hey all, I was being a genius and thought i could drag my applications icon from the places side panel to the dock and yah not so much it did that little poof thing but i lost is off the side panel and have no clue how to get it back i've only been using a mac for a week and i'm not even sure how to look for help in mac help for this

Go to your main hard drive, named by default "Macintosh HD" (should be on your Desktop)

You should see some folders there, including Applications.

Drag it back into Places.

Can you drag your icons to the dock? I want my home folder on there.

You can drag your Applications folder or any folder to the dock, but it has to be on the side to the right of the line... The area where your minimized apps show up. I have my Applications folder there for easy access.
