Hmmm, what's the source of that?

And why does it say "Choose your PowerMac G4", and in the description it says G5?

Apple Reportedly Posts G5 Details on Site

Source: MacCentral.com

For a brief time on Thursday night, Apple Computer Inc. reportedly posted information on its Web site detailing the company's next generation computer, known as the G5. While the information has since been removed, the company wasn't quick enough as Mac enthusiasts and Web sites across the Web captured images of the pages.

The specs posted to the company's Web site list the G5 as being available in three speeds: 1.6GHz, 1.8GHz and a dual 2GHz with up to a 1GHz processor bus; up to 8GB of DDR SDRAM; Fast Serial ATA hard drives; AGP 8X Pro graphics options from Nvidia or ATI; three PCI or PCI-X expansion slots; three USB 2.0 ports; one FireWire 800 and two FireWire 400 ports; and optical and analog audio in and out.

maybe when they release the G5 iMac in january I'll be able to get one. unless they release a 20th anniversary Mac, and make my machine obsolete

Thanx, schweb. I meant to add the source, but forgot. I saw it on various web site last night.

I tried to access Apple's store web site but it was down most of the evening.

Its all so exciting I cant wait till Tuesday 6 am to see the live Quicktime thing to find out for sure. I am definitely buying a new mac this year sometime, after the mortgage is paid off! If you want lots of gossip about it go to www.macnn.com and the forums as well.

Does anyone think its a hack?

Hey, Apple is catching up! Fastest computer on the planet! But, what I want to see is if they posted pics of the G5. I want that computer, it makes my computer look like, well, a pile of cat fieces.

P.S., who wants to guess how much that thing costs? $9,999.99 ;)

I'm guessing the low end will start around $3000-$3500?

$2,999 is my guess. That way they can advertise "For less than $3,000, you can have the world's fastest computer"
