The digital music download war is heating up, and Roxio, is the focus. It appears that RealNetworks, with $300 million in cash at the end of June, said it will use the new proceeds from convertible bonds for general corporate purposes, as well as acquisitions. Their target company is Roxio, Inc. RealNetworks has the largest online subscriber base for video and audio content and hopes to use Roxio’s Napster property and CD burning technology to leapfrog Apple’s iTunes service.
