you should be able to just right click the desktop and chose "make a new folder" and put whatever info you want in there. maybe that's just my niavety speaking, but I think that's all you have to do.

Just drag a folder from the finder to the right side of the little dock divider. Drop it in place and you're set! If you right click (or cmd click) on the folder you're able to browser the contents via the contextual menu that pops up.

You can, of course, use the keyboard for navigation too ... like to launch either:

Applications folder -> Shift + Command + A
Utilities folder -> Shift + Command + U
Home folder -> Shift + Command + H

There are furthur keyboard combos to navigate inside a Finder window but they're for another time ...

Ahem, that would be cmd-shift-A/U/etc.

ctrl click, not cmd click: cmd click is reveal in Finder.

I use this with my apps folder. You just drag it from the finder and put it by your bin... Then just click and hold the mouse button to get all your apps displayed in a list..... However I use Quicksilver to launch apps with now
that said I haven't removed the folder I like it there

I'll be buying it the moment it is out! Leopard means more to me than the iPhone. Screw the bugs.

Haha, I guess it can't be any worse then a release of Vista in terms of buggie'ness haha!

Yeah, count me in too. I just looked on the AUS site I didnt realize it was only $158!

I was a bit taken away.. I had in my head some figure much larger!
