• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I Can't ever remember seeing a demo version of FCP. That might be because of the size of the application content.

Perhaps your local Apple dealer could give you a demo using your camera content.

Also, Apple has some tutorials here clickable on the bottom half of the page.

Yeah, I don't think there are any demos available at all. The whole studio takes up about 53 gigs of space, final cut alone with all of the features is a few gigs.

I think the best thing to do is go to the apple store and try it out. The computers are usually loaded with content so you can try to edit video and audio etc.

That is true at the Apple stores but not common at third party Apple dealerships. Di-in-nz is in New Zealand.

Protel maybe the people to talk to down there. Perhaps there is a small posibility they could arrange for a tempory license key. It would be worth a phone call at least.
