Hi,

I need a step by step procedure for installing OS 9. I want to install it on my Powerbook G4. Right now I have OS X.4.10 installed. it's 667mHz 1GB ram and 30GB HD. For some reason when I try to install, I hold shift to turn extensions off, and then it gets to the loading screen and then I get the message hold shift to turn extensions off. How do I know if OS9.2.1 is the right version for my PB?

Some over on the Ten side of the forum would ask why you want to go back to OS9,I know why but don't know alot about Newer powerbooks as if yours will run 9?
If you hold down the option key on start up and click on boot from CD.

I still get stuck at the loading screen with the error 11 to hold down shift to turn extensions off. But the extensions were off before it got to that screen. Is there a website to find out how this computer came equipped? OS 9(9.2.2 or other), OS X or both, I know it came out in 2002 Model # A1001, but I didn't get anything else with it. I had to buy OS X Tiger, to get it working. Thanks for the help.
