I bought this new 15" powerbook, then bought a airport extreme card, installed it, G4 detected it.

my router setup:
No WEP yet, i like to go one step at a time.
Airpot MAC ID is in the MAC address client list.

Run Internet connection, see signals of the router. But, safari doesn't see any host.

so the airport see the signal, but can't send the packets through the router, how do i fix it at this point, i feel like it is so close.

thanks

I had the same problem when I first tried to connect to our wireless router at home, I get the signal and my MAC address was visible. It turns out that it was encrypted 64-bit and my powerbook was set to 128-bit encryption. I had it changed to 128-bit and voila, got through.

Regardless of your WEP connection, it should still see the host. It sounds like your SSID Broadcasting feature is turned off in your router. Give that a shot.
