Missing Manual. Awesome books, great for beginners and experts both.

Agreed. But you need one more. Mac OS X Tiger Killer Tips by Scott Kilby. Available at Amazon, among other places. This super easy to read and illustrated book takes you beyond from where the Missing Manual leaves off. With these two books, you're set. Of course, when you upgrade to Leopard, you will have to upgrade books too. At this point in time, you might want to think used.
