MacBook 1.83 GHz intel c2d, 2gb ram, xp and os x.6
This isn't a mac question at all, but is an intel celeron a legitimate i686 architecture?

I have an old hp laptop and I want to run arch linux on it, but I wasn't sure. I know when the celeron's came out they were supposed to be comparable to a pII, but...

both the PII and the celeron are classified as i686

edit: I think the highest speed the previous generation went was about 300Mhz.
