java script supported on safari/mac?

Hi,

After much indecision, I am planning to get a 20in basic imac once leopard is released toward the end of the month...hopefully.

I wanted to know if safari supports 'java scripts' - i had firefox on my old borrowed windows me dell, and it did not have this. I need to use it to get access to my work online email portal (which remotely lets me access outlook, accounts packages, intranet etc).

if it is not included, can I download this, and do I need to pay? apologies for the basic question, I am a technophobe...which may be why I am not getting another windows computer!

Yes, Safari (and every other browser) comes with javascript. And it is enabled by default.

Safari and Firefox handle javascript with ease.

It's Internet Explorer which causes all the problems. The number of sites I've designed that work properly on Safari and FF, but have bugs on IE drives me to distraction.

If it weren't for design firms (my client base), I'd not even consider Safari compatability!

If it works in Firefox, it tends to work in Safari and vice versa.

What's the market for Safari + FF? 10 / 15%?

Safari is only about 1.5% of the market.
Firefox is around 34.5% of the market.
