Help - DVD stuck inside

Despite upgrading to Toast 8, there still seems to be a problem with hardware regarding burning of disks.

Now, to make things worse, my MBP doesn't even recognise there is a DVD inside so there is nothing to eject. I have opened DVD player and pressed Apple key + E as well as the eject key but it is acting as if there is no disk.

Is there an emergency procedure for this?

Reboot your MBP and just after you hear the chime, press and hold the mouse button.

That should spit it out for you...
