Stickies n00b question

hello,
i'm a switcher and very proud of it.
dumb question bout the stickies application:
how do i change the colors of the stickies? Even after I select a color other than yellow and save, when i pull it up again, it is yellow instead of the color I chose.

I don't have this problem. How do you "save" your color change? My selected note changes color instantly when I select a color from the Color drop-down menu in Stickies.
More detail on your problem is needed.

I open stickies,
I choose a new color (lets say pink), I write my note, then I will exit. The computer prompts me to save, and I save it with all my other stickies.
Then, I will go back and "import stickies", open up a sticky, and it will be the default yellow instead of pink, like i chose.
