The problem I had with redhat is that the recipient mail server sees the redhat box as a rogue mail sender... a spam machine, and the messages get dropped.
What I did to overcome this is set up a mail account on a mail server. Then on the redhat machine, send mail as a client not a server. It's been working for a few years solidly.
