The artistry of Ron Mueck.

Just saw a portion of his work at the Modern Art Museum in Ft Worth a couple of weeks ago.

Here's another of 'Big Man' - this was the most arresting and held my attention longer than any of the others - pictures do not do justice to any of these pieces.

The third one above - actually is a full body - was quite amazing also.

Don't bite me for this, just an opinion, but I loathe this guys work. It has massive shock power, and "wow" factor but it's a only result of astounding technique and scale. I feel that there is very little artistry there. Very unsubtle. I think good art should be a little more subtle in it's approach. Kind of allowing you to reveal layers over time. I don't think they stand up to repeated viewings, but I do admit they are astonishing at first glance. Just an opinion though...:D
