I purchased an open box MBP, but then I heard about the student discount, and purchased it online. When it comes if possible I would like to transfer all my music and files over to the new laptop. Is this easily done?

when you first start the new MBP, it will ask if you want to transfer files from another Mac. Say yes, and it will walk you through it. It will transfer all your files, preferences, settings, etc. You need a Firewire cable.

Can you do a similar thing for PC - Mac?

Or do I need to network them together? I have about 150 gig of files i need to transfer and don't want to burn loads of DVDs

Will it move my programs over to, or will I need to reinstall them?
