new mac acting weird

why is it showing double shut down and restart?



and some other weird boxes around certain items.





I have restarted and it still does it, any ideas?

That's really weird.. I"m not sure if this will help but it's worth a try... try repairing your disk permissions... utilities > disk utitility > click on your hard drive > then repair disk permissions

I think the boxes issue can be fixed by going into the System prefs and going to Universal access one of the help options might be selected, I think you can disable it with Control + Shift + F5

I had that problem with the double menu items. You might try repairing permissions. Applications folder >> Utilities >> Disk Utility, click verify permissions and then once that's finished click repair permissions.

I have double menu entries when I right click on a file and go to open with it's rather odd.

I figured it out, i was trying to do a force refresh in firefox and hit ctrl f5 and I guess its some voice thingy. i hit ctrl f5 again and its not gone.

I had the same problem not too long ago, but I forget what I did to get rid of it...
