Disappearing Act??

Just messing with system preferences etc on my new macbook. I was just changing my user display pic and I don't know whether I clicked something by mistake (I'm a noob I know lol) but when I next opened Safari all my bookmarks had gone, and I went to iTunes, it was asking for the update which I already installed the day before and my songs had disappeared, had to re copy them all. Can anyone tell me what I did so I can avoid doing it again? Thanks.

EDIT: PS out of interest the appearance had also gone back to blue from graphite

Sounds like you may have made the infamous mistake of renaming your Home folder.

... *blushes* ... whoops. Thanks for that. Out of interest is there any way to make the home folder in the sidebar just say home instead of my username? Just looks messy to me.
