I read that it works with the SMS movment sensor built into the mac. I dident know there was a motion sensor?

Yeah thats cool and all but it really just for fun, won't really protect the mac. Try out Seismac it like a portable seisographer sp?

The motion sensor is for the hard drive. When it detects a fall it will park the drive heads to stop them scratching the discs on impact and damaging your data. Your computer will still be completely screwed, but you can get a specialist to recover the data from the hard drive... in theory; I'm not gonna test it!

I did try it, while it was plugged into some big speakers at 2200... scared the crap outta me and probably woke up the neighbors. I'd say it might be pretty effective if anyones close enough to hear it (you really wouldn't leave your laptop anyway though.... right?). It's certainly gonna attract some attention.

I tried it out the other day, and it worked perfectly. I live in my college dorms, and the bathroom is right next to my room. I had just finished my business when I heard it go off. My friends were trying to hide it on me. It was awesome.
