trouble sending files on ichat

I am trying to send files to a friend and when I send file it says waiting for friend to accept, on my freinds side it says waiting for me to start. It then says file transfer error on my friends side. My friend can send me files and I can accept without issues but when I send to him it doesn;t work.

anyone have any idea?

are you on dialup? same thing happens to me with cam, and sometimes files. iChat requires dsl or faster to use all the features.
do your friends have a firewall? do you have a router?
