This is completely random... Please don't take this seriously, it's just something random my friend and I friend came up with
Wouldn't it be great if Master Chief finds out that the Covenant and Flood were actually like orphans dressed up for halloween and he mistook their playful game of lasertag as a threat and began killing them? And the marines that died when shot by the orphans were really their nannies in marine costumes who were just pretending to be shot! The masks muffled the tiny british voices of the kids crying for help, making them just sound like the growling noises we hear in the game.
Then it turns out its actually this giant episode of Punk'd where his parents set master chief up from birth to think he's in the Marines and all the people infected by the flood were just actors. So when he finally blows up all the Halos his parents pop out and are like HA! YOU BEEN PUNK'D! and he just starts crying. Then Don Knots shows up and delivers a great punchline, then they all just have a good laugh about it and go home.
