I donno about this one. It seems that it was too easy to get into these servers. And the article said itself that the servers were out-dated and were running web software with missing security patches.

It'd be ike attacking an XP machine without any Windows Updates.

Sure, but anything is secure with patches... even Windows ME...

Any OS and any server can be hacked... I just think it's a bit worrying this was hacked using a blank password sniffer. Nothing to do with security patches, it's human error that's usually responsible.

Yeah, I get this.. I think it's just the simple fact that they didn't put enough maintainance/time into their servers... Kind of like a "you get what you pay for" kinda thing. Then again, even cheap stuff can last a while if you take care of it, but these obviously weren't.

Remember kids, ANYTHING can be hacked. Mac OS X and Linux are MORE secure, but not impenetrable. We need to be careful in our day to day computer use, even on a Mac.
