Hey all i dont know what to get... i want a .mac account but thats $100 dollars a year but i also want xbox hd dvd player. now i have around $650 dollars saved up and it just wouldnt be smart of me to spend $375 of it.. so im kinda bent on which one to get i mean i would get around the same amount of use out of each i want a .mac to make webpages and i want a hd dvd player well for dvd's soo any input?

Well they're both completely different things, so it's impossible to recommend one or the other.

I think .mac has become better value, but in reality there are cheaper, faster, larger internet hosting services available, for less cash.

As far as HD-DVD is concerned... the films look great, but I do worry that HD-DVD is not going to last too long. I think Blu-Ray has it wrapped up...

So... my advice is, keep saving and get a Blu-Ray Mac in the new year... there is a vicious rumour that Leopard was delayed for the same reason Vista was; which is to meet the Blu-Ray DRM standards within the OS.

... you heard it here first!

You could just keep saving! Having extra cash is always nice for when you really really really want something.

I second both of these guys. Keep saving so that you can afford something you really want and/or need. There's also a satisfaction in buying something and having money left over.
