I was trying to install boot camp and somehow ininstalled windows over my os x and now when i boot my Intel Core Duo iMac, it goes straight to windows. ive tried the holdin down c and the option approach but i cant boot from my osx dvd to re-install it.How do i A.)uninstall winxp B.)factory reset my imac or C.)format my harddrive.

Well, for starters, you can't install Windows via Boot Camp on a G5 iMac. Boot Camp only works for Intel based Macs.
Since I've never actually seen somebody install Windows on a G5, I really can't answer your other questions. Perhaps somebody else might have a clue...

You do not have an iMac G5. You have an Intel Core Duo iMac. There are two ways around your problem if you installed XP correctly. Hold down the OPTION key right after the startup sound and a boot manager should come up. Select OSX from the Boot Manager. If not, boot into XP and go to the Control Panel. Look for Startup Disk and select OSX.

So whatever the case may be, it wasn't REALLY Windows that took over your computer, but you that installed Windows over your OS X partition? Wow, I think you owe Windows an apology. 
Seriously though, that sucks. As far as I know, holding C during boot is the only way to force the machine to boot to a CD. You could try holding Option to get the boot menu, then choose the CD-ROM (provided the CD is in the drive) instead of either of the HD partitions.
