I have been having a problem, if you saw my threads, on importing a VHS using pass thru on the dv. Last night just by dumb luck I stumbled on the remedy. There has to be no tape in the dv camera and you can't use the A/C adapter. You have to run it off of the battery. As soon as you connect the adapter it stops importing. I tried it several times and the same scenario.

I don't know if this will work with the other camera but I saw several other threads that had the same problem.
