is removing programs from you mac as simple as dragging the program from your application and dumping it in the trash? or is there more to it like going through an uninstall like on a pc?

Some bigger applications come with their own uninstaller, or give you special instructions on how to uninstall. If an application doesn't include either, then yes, dragging it to the trash will uninstall it.

There will be tiny little preference files left over, but there's no harm in just leaving them.

You can also check out a program called AppZapper. It finds the associated files for a program and deletes them too.

Hi, as someone mentioned already: Appzapper is a nice uninstaller (unfortunately shareware). There are a lot of uninstallers on the market why not check them out? Some are freeware:

-Cleanapp (shareware)
-Appcleaner (freeware)
-Apptrap (freeware) -> this one is unique

Hope I was able to help.
