Getting rid of widgets

Macbook Pro Santa Rosa 15" 2.4Ghz, 8600M GT 256MB Gfx, 2GB RAM
I installed a widget onto my desktop but I dont want to keep it, how do i delete it?

Click the plus button in the bottom-left corner to get th widget bar up and click the Widgets icon. You can then disable widgets or click the X that appears on a widget to get rid of it.

Or hold Option and hover your mouse over a widget. ;p

Using the above methods doesn't actually get rid of the widget though, instead, type "widgets" into spotlight, then right click on the folder "Widgets" and choose "Reveal in Finder". Open the widgets folder and from here you can delete any widgets you don't want permanently.

Or click the + in the bottom left corner, then "Manage Widgets..." then the "Do not enter" red symbol on the right of the widgets you don't want. ;p ;p

*note: This only works for widgets YOU added.
For the ones that come with OS X, as MacBurg said, delete them directly from the folder /Library/Widgets
