Hi everyone,
I am wanting to know if I connect a keyboard and mouse via USB to a macbook pro and output the signal via monitor out (to a bigger monitor) can I close the macbook without it going to sleep and use it as a "desktop"?

Yes, the macbook will go to sleep whet you close the lid, but then you just press anything on the USB keyboard and it wakes up as a desktop pc! I use my mbp this way and its fine.
