Why does iPhoto open when I plug in my iPhone?

Does this happen to everyone? If so does anyone know how to make it stop. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

its so you can download the photos you have taken with your iPhone. You can turn it off by opening up Image Capture, preferences and having it do nothing when a camera is connected
