I just got my IPhone and i have a few questions..

1. For some reason my wifi isnt working even though it says its connected. it works fine on my MBP.

2. If i wanted to used an IPhone "app" would i just bookmark the site or is there a way to put it on the home screen?

3. Is there anyway to change the ring tones to something besides the default ones?

4. Is it possible to do bluetooth file transfers?

Do you have security enabled on your router? If so, make sure it is security that the iPhone is compatible with.

Just bookmark the site. There is no way to put them on the home screen.

The default ringtones are the only choices for now.

4. Is it possible to do bluetooth file transfers?
No, Bluetooth is locked down to headset and hands free profiles only, as of now.

.

1. from the web page click the + icon at the bottom and select Add to Home Screen. an icon is placed on the HS as a shortcut to the web page.

2a. any m4a file can be renamed m4r, then added to iTunes. iTunes will see it as a ringtone then you can add them to your phone. the phone will display them at the top of the ringtones section.

2b. i like to drag and drop songs from iTunes directly into Garage Band, trim to the section I want, then choose Share > Send Ringtone to iTunes. friggin sweet and you bypass the double-download of songs to get them as ringtones.

I realize I'm replying to an old post, just thought clarification was in order as I've been doing all this since the 1st gen phone.

cheers
