Convert MPG in quicktime pro

Having a major problem and need any help if anyone can give it to me. I am trying to convert MPG to .dv files (in Quicktime Pro) to use in Final Cut Express. However when I convert the mpg to dv, the sound doesnt come through. Can anyone let me know what I need to do? ANy help would be greatly appreciated!

sorry the only thing i can suggest is extracting the sound track seperately then adding it back in later

Try DropDV. This will do a high quality conversion from MPEG to DV.
