any xbox live gamers here?

Well heres my problem
my wireless router is downstairs
like im going to pay £80 for a wireless doodar

is it possible to connect my xbox live through my macs ethernet port?
or is it going to be a bring router upstairs situation

Looking at the System Preferences, it would seem as though what you're asking is possible.

Connect your Xbox to your Mac via Ethernet. Then go to System Preferences --> Sharing and click on the Internet tab. Make sure it says Airport next to "Share your connection from" and then click on the checkbox next to Built-in Ethernet in the box at the bottom. Finally, click on the Start button a little bit above.

Now, I've never tried this myself, but looking at the options, this would seem to work.

We put an ethernet through the ceiling. The wireless adapters are less than £80 - they are £54.99 at play and that is delivered:

If you find somewhere that accepts google checkout, you can get it even cheaper.

The drawback of connecting via your Mac is that you have to have your Mac on all the time when playing the 360, and the connection may not be as good as standalone.

It is possible, as that's how I have my xbox hooked up. I couldn't find the exact instructions I followed, but this page looks similar.

In the end i couldnt get it to work
i havnt tried dohidied's link yet
but i decided to bring my router 2 my bedroom
even though my mum said no ¬¬

she hasnt noticed the wire trailing accross the house yet

yeah, it looks like your problem will be solved with the link above but i just wanted to say that I used to do this with a regular xbox so a 360 should work as well...
