Was talking to a friend of mine a few weeks back about me looking at new Thinkpads. Mine is a five year old A31 and well, I doubt it could handle Vista.
I'm a programmer. .Net stuff for work, and a C programmer out of desire. Of course, I've been using MS's flavor of C. And I also love Unix.
As of a few weeks ago though, I had no clue OS X was basically Unix. So once I found out I *had* to get one.
It's been three days since I brought home my new 15" MBP and I'll have to say, "This is what personal computing *should* be."
I'm hooked. I love it. Of course, I'm better with Term than I am with the GUI interface.
For those of you contemplating switching? My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. The Mac is friendly enough for the novice computer user, and underneath, it's as complex as the most geekiest person could want. It's the best of both worlds.
Mac's got something here, and I think Vista may be one of the things that makes Macs claim even more of the market share. Well, that and the awesome commercials.
Other than for work - I'll not be switching back... um ever...
