Motion Sensitive Laptop

I have just seen this on the BBC News website.

I wonder how long before Apple make their own version?

Well they have this but obviously that isn't as responsive as you would like.

I can't imagine, from the description, that it would be so enjoyable to use. If you have to tilt to move a mouse pointer or turn a page then how far do you need to tilt it? Too far and you'd no longer see the screen, too little and you'll accidentally be turning pages while shifting in your seat. I think a simple tablet PC covers the "...PC, monitor and mouse puts them off." crowd.

And there's this, the "Smackbook" (video at the bottom of the page). Apple has included sudden-motion sensors in its portables since the G4 to protect them from falls.

This, of course, would be news to the BBC that generally ignores Apple's existence.

And dont forget this. Its called Mac Saber. Its a program that responds to your movements with light saber sounds. Really cool, now you can have light saber battles with your friends who have macs. It supports powerbooks, macbooks, and macbook pros. Im not sure if ibooks have a motion sensor

Here's an "About" page on Apple's site. It says it's also called the Mobile Motion Module, which might explain why some stories don't show up in a search.

The iPhone also has an accellerometer, used mainly to set the screen orientation.
