Welcome to Mac-Forums, musicislife428.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

Hmm. Not too sure about this but I think hairspray contains solvents. The first idea I get is that the plastic is marred by the solvents.

Maybe somebody else has a better idea of what to do but me thinks it doesn't look too good.

Nail varnish remover may work, but please use carefully and at your own risk!

DON'T USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER! It contains acetone, and will melt your Macbook!

Acetone free nail varnish remover has been out for an age. ;)

There are many nail varnish removers that are acetone free - I should have mentioned this though.

I agree. If the messed up case has you down, drink your problems away!

One for me... one for macbook... one for me...

No but seriously, I would recreate the problem on a similar plastic you don't care about, and then try the suggested solutions.

have you tried the screen cleaners - try it on the case where it is sprayed.

Unfortunately, I'm agreeing with MacHeadCase, I think the hairspray corroded the case.

@Kyomii,

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be unpleasant. I thought those products were still all acetone (maybe they are in the U.S. still?).

@musicislife428,

If all of these suggestions fail you and Ninjab3ar is correct, you could probably buff the bad spots out with a really fine polishing compound or silver polish.

Hey, no worries, I know you wasn't being unpleasant, if anything you were being thoughtful by pointing out about acetone - like I said, I should have mentioned it ;D

Have you managed to get it sorted musicislife428?
